Great Ocean Road Running Festival

The Apollo Bay and District Health Foundation is proud to once again be the Preferred Charity for the Great Ocean Road Running Festival formally known as the Great Ocean Road Marathon. This exciting, health focused event will take place on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st May. Our role in the Running Festival is to continue to supply a team of volunteers who work tirelessly on drink stations, marshal roads and generally provide support and encouragement for the runners. All monies raised through our involvement in the Running Festival directly benefit our communities along the Great Ocean Road.

We are delighted to welcome back our major sponsors the Apollo Bay Hotel and the Apollo Bay Chamber of Commerce. We are also thrilled to welcome the Cape Otway Light Station as a major sponsor this year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our three major sponsors and look forward to working with them towards a very successful Festival.

The Marathon's Healthy Community Connections

The Apollo Bay & District Health Foundation is pleased and proud to announce that as a result of the fantastic fundraising efforts of the runners, the generosity of our major sponsors and other supporters, the enthusiastic volunteering by local groups and the fabulous support of our community, we managed to raise more than $37,500 through the Great Ocean Road Marathon to distribute back into our community, as follows:

Apollo Bay & District Health Foundation has been appointed the preferred charity for this unique and iconic Festival. For the Health Foundation to be able to raise its profile before and during this event, the partnership and support of our local businesses is paramount. By visibly demonstrating your support for us, you are in turn assisting the Health Foundation to take a leadership role in improving medical and other health services for local residents and visitors.
